Beaumaris Podiatry offers appointments Monday to Friday with their team of experienced and caring podiatrists who offer a full range of services including general podiatry, nail management, corns, callus treatment, orthotics and diabetic foot care.
Dietitian
Jenny Davidson is a general dietitian with experience in many areas including weight loss, diabetes, and irritable bowel syndrome.
Diabetes educator
Rebecca Gebert is available at Beaumaris Medical Centre as a childhood and adolescent diabetes educator, working with patients from 0-22 years and is available by appointment.
Pathology
Dorevitch Pathology is located at 31 North Concourse, offering a complete range of pathology services including blood tests, ECGs, breath testing, urine tests, etc.

Louise Paterson is a highly experienced midwife practitioner and maternal wellness specialist. She has a long background of working in midwifery and is now focusing her expertise on improving women’s experiences around pregnancy, birth and beyond.
We are delighted to have Louise on our team and believe her care complements more traditional care models, including GP shared care, hospital-based care and private obstetric care. Louise works closely with hospital midwives, GPs and obstetricians to get the best outcomes for her patients.
All of Louise’s consultations are eligible for Medicare rebates.

Podiatry
Beaumaris Podiatry has been operating within the Beaumaris Medical Centre for 15 years. We currently have 4 senior podiatrists available 5 days per week.
Our podiatrists; Kirsten Morris, Fiona Barker, Kathryn Nicol and Hazel Souyave have all completed a four-year bachelor of Podiatry degree and have a keen interest in all aspects of podiatric care. Each podiatrist has over 10 years experience working across a broad range of specialities.
Your podiatrist has been trained to treat, diagnosed and educate you in the following areas.
• Routine and regular foot and nail care
• Treatment and maintenance of corns and callouses
• Fungal infections of nails
• Wart and verracue treatments
• Ingrown toenails, including minor nail surgeries (if required)
• Children’s foot problems
• Diabetes foot care
• Sports injuries
• Biomechanical gait assessment (the way you use your feet)
• Foot orthotics and arch supports
• Heel, arch and forefoot pain

• Thorough biomechanical assessments are undertaken during your initial assessment, a follow up appointment may be required if casting for custom made orthotics is required. Your Podiatrist with discuss this with you during your appointment

Shelley Sweidan BSc (Physiotherapy) - member of the Australian Physiotherapy association
Shelley joined Beaumaris Medical Centre in 1998, shortly after immigrating to Australia. She runs a general physiotherapy practice with special interest in musculoskeletal issues, back and neck problems as well as joint rehabilitation. Shelley utilises the best available evidence and research to help you recover and is committed to help you lead an active life. She works as part of the team with other members of Beaumaris Medical Centre to assist you on your road to recovery and good health.
Shelley is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist, and uses a combination of hands-on treatment, education and exercise prescription to treat the following conditions:
Orthopaedic musculoskeletal conditions, spine, neck and back pain, sprains, strains, tension headaches, frozen shoulder, and other soft tissue injuries
Post-surgical rehabilitation (hip, knee, shoulder, etc)
Post-fracture rehabilitation
Treatment for dizziness related to Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) using gentle repositioning manoeuvres
Shelley accepts all the following: Private Patients, GP management plans (Enhanced Primary Care plans), DVA, TAC and WorkCover.

Dietitian
Looking for a Dietitian? Refresh Dietetics offers individual consultations as well as groups and seminars "to order". Jenny Davidson is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with over 20 years experience in clinical (hospital) dietetics, food service, community dietetics, groups and private practice.
Refresh Dietetics commenced as a small business in Elsternwick in 1988 running 2 sessions per week in a General Practice setting. Jenny was keen to gain more experience in all areas of dietetics but kept her private practice running part time from varying locations. Now she has three sites and offers a variety of times for individual appointments as well as running small groups and seminars as the need arises. Jenny sees clients from 5 years of age to 105.
She is presently at Beaumaris Medical Centre on Fridays.

Dr Christine Ellisdon - Clinical Psychologist

Christine has worked in the field of mental health since 2000. She has extensive experience working with older adolescents and adults and has a specialist interest in treating anxiety disorders and relationship difficulties. Christine is also skilled and experienced in treating trauma, grief and loss, mood disorders, and difficulties associated with life transitions. As an integral part of her approach, Christine places particular emphasis on addressing issues affecting a person’s sense of self-worth and self-esteem and how these issues influence various areas of life.
Angela Martin - Psychologist
BA (Psych), Grad Dip (Voc Counselling) Dist, MAPS, AMASH
Angela has worked in the field of mental health for approximately 30 years. She has experience working with older adolescents, adults and couples. Her therapeutic approach is fundamentally cognitive emphasising positive thinking and behaviour to initiate change. Angela has special interest and extensive experience in treating anxiety, mood disorders and relationship issues. She is also skilled and experienced in stress management, assertiveness training, self esteem and confidence building, grief and loss and difficulties associated with life transitions.
Sarah Novotny - Psychologist

Sarah has been working in the field for over 12 years and has a particular interest in working with adolescents and young adults. She also has considerable experience in assisting adults with a variety of presenting issues including life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, parenting issues, and coaching in the areas of decision making, problem solving, communication, assertiveness and self esteem.
Tatianna Shemer - Psychotherapist

Tatianna is a highly experienced clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist who specializes in the areas of trauma and complex trauma, sexual assaults, family violence and how these life experiences affect the development and life of the individual. Additional areas of interest and experience include women’s health and psycho-oncology, grief and loss, relationship issues, anxiety and depression.
Peter Wilson
Peter Wilson is a registered Clinical Psychologist with more than 15 years experience. In that time he has worked in a range of settings which include clinical, educational and forensic. He has also been in private practice since 1999.
Presently Peter works as a school psychologist within the private and state school sectors. He practices from the Beaumaris Medical Centre as well as a clinic in Glenhuntly. He is a Visiting Fellow at the University of Melbourne where he supervises a range of post graduate, Masters and PhD students in Counselling and Psychology. He is a member of the College of Clinical Psychology – Australian Psychological Society and the Australasian Sleep Association.
At Beaumaris Medical Centre, Peter provides counselling, assessment and diagnosis of a range of conditions. He has particular interests and experience in anxiety, post traumatic stress, OCD, autism spectrum, depression, sleep, pain disorders, early onset and chronic psychotic and related disorders. Peter has also had considerable experience and expertise working with individuals, couples and families. From his experience and training he also works with many of the disorders of childhood and adolescence including developmental disorders, school attendance & behaviour, study skills, exam stress, social and educational problems and a range of other health related conditions including ADD and ADHD, and social media issues.
Peter works with all age groups from young children, adolescents and adults. The approaches employed include Cognitive Behavioural, Acceptance & Commitment, Mindfulness and Brief Solution Focused therapeutic approaches. He also assists clients to understand the nature of their difficulties, empower them to collaboratively address concerns and assists the person to begin the most realistic means of achieving positive ongoing change. These approaches are found by research to increase the possibility of producing measurable and effective outcomes which are generally efficient in producing positive changes for the individual.
Peter works in close collaboration with the GP’s, Sleep Physicians, Paediatricians, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, school counsellors and other health professionals. .
Full Medicare and private health insurance rebated services including bulk billing services are available where appropriate. Other services include Work Cover, TAC and insurance funded clients.

Childhood & Adolescent Diabetes Nurse Educator
Rebecca is a Registered Nurse and a Credentialled Diabetes Educator. She has extensive experience in managing childhood, and young people’s (0-22 years) Diabetes. She has been practicing for over 15 years.
Areas of clinical interest are intensive insulin management, support in the community and motivational education.
She offers a weekend diabetes education consultancy service (monthly basis), is able to apply CGM and supports intensive insulin management.
Rebecca provides comprehensive support: to insulin stabilisation or review, for school visits, developing individualised educational material & diabetes care action plan, ability to assess and support self care concern/s or issue. She can use upload technology to support insulin pump (CSII) management.
She accepts the Medicare rebate under the Enhanced Primary Care referrals from a G.P. and supports NDSS & NDSS/IPC registration.
